Q. What is a building management system (BMS)? A. In larger data centers, the building management system (BMS) allows for constant and centralized monitoring of the facility, including temperature, humidity, power and cooling. Power continues to lead as a concern for data center operations. Data centers are designed to a specific power density - watts per square foot - with a typical cabinet of equipment occupying 14 sq. ft. of space. Data center and IT managers must pay sufficient attention to the process of measuring, monitoring and modeling energy use in data centers. It does not rely on a schedule, since data loss does not occur on a schedule. Increasingly, the most valuable information is mission-critical, meaning it has just been created or is being continually modified for the task at hand. Easy-to-use recovery tools are also critically important to bring back lost files and systems. With the Cisco UCS 82598KR-CI adapters, a maximum of two adapters are presented to the VMware ESX hypervisor running on the blade. This interface count does not support a fabric failover, and the service console must be migrated to the Cisco Nexus 1000V Series Switch along with all these other adapter types if any high-availability requirement exists. Selected data is redundantly stored on disk drives in the first group of disk drives, the second group of disk drives and the third group of disk drives such that,upon failure of the first arbiter, the selected data is available to the first storage processor and the second storage processor through the second and third arbiters.
